Every year we advise customers to plan ahead and do their Christmas shopping as early as possible. This is specially important if you plan to shop for designer lingerie which involves more time, sometimes more discussion, and is only occasionally available off the shelf.
Christmas Shopping Help Page
For 2015 we are taking our own advice by starting this Christmas shopping help page earlier than usual.
If you would like to join in with the discussion and add your Christmas shopping tips in the comments section please feel free.
So that's the thought and the plan and we are starting it off this September weekend with a list of designers you really need to be ordering sooner rather than later.
Designer Lingerie for that Extra Special Christmas Gift
1. Jane Woolrich is possibly best known for fabulously luxurious nightdresses and negligees, but this designer brand also offers a choice of chemises and camisole sets as well as silk bras with matching panties. These are all made to measure and are just perfect if you want to give something really special for Christmas. You do need to plan ahead when buying Jane Woolrich as during peak times garments can take up to six weeks to be cut and sewn. Most items are made in real silk with French lace but we do have a large selection of polyester satin and French lace options for those whose budget will not extend to real silk.
2. Diki Lingerie is another made to measure designer brand with a choice of nightdresses, chemises, camisole sets and bra sets, plus beautiful real silk basques. The designs are elegant and stylish and like Jane Woolrich designs, each garment is individually made by a single seamstress. This is not production line, factory produced lingerie but high quality lingerie made in the UK specially for you. Diki is usually able to to cope with the Christmas surge in orders with an average despatch time of 25 days.
Both these designer brands require extra measurements when you place your order and you will find a form in the check out to complete. Remember that these are made to measure and it is important to have the right measurements.
3. Liliana Casanova is a French designer brand and they usually take up to four weeks to complete a garment. Add to that the time it takes for the order to arrive with us in the UK and you are looking at an average despatch and delivery time roughly the same as Jane Woolrich. As this is a standard size garment we do have a limited number of designs in stock, so if you have left shopping to the last minute and have set your heart on a Liliana Casanova luxury nightdress or negligee it is always worth contacting us to see if we have something ready to go.
4. Sonata Lingerie, stands out from the crowd! Unlike the three designers already mentioned, Sonata does not generally make nightdresses and most of the garments are lace body suits, soft bras and panties with just a trim of silk. Again these are standard sizes but they are made to order in the EU and so can take 28 days to despatch.
The above despatch time-scales cover the time from your order to the moment when we pack and ship to you. If you are in the UK then you are just a matter of a day or two away from receiving your purchase at that stage in the process. Not so for international customers. We use the Royal Mail for all our shipping, including the international orders and the time it takes for delivery is variable with places like Russia and South Africa being slower than most. The USA can deliver within 5 days with the mix of Royal Mail and USPS working neatly together except when there is an increased security alert. Then Customs in the US up the level of scrutiny and delivery time can be much longer. So international customers need to plan ahead even earlier than UK customers. Below we have a list of last order dates for international customers where we have added two weeks transit time to the manufacturing time.
